At NOLABJJ, we host a bi-annual in-house tournament and promotion every December and May. These tournaments deliver the perfect avenue for students that wish to test out their jiu jitsu in a high-pressure environment. Beware, Competition can become addicting!
As stated in our FAQ, We never charge for our in-house tournament, for new belts or for testing. White belts should take the Blue Belt Test after roughly one year of consistent training, or when invited by their instructor. If you’re not sure if you are ready, ask your instructor. The PDF and video below detail the requirements for the test.
Dates and times for the blue belt test, adult tournament, and kid’s tournament will be announced in the weeks leading up to the events. If you cannot make one of the test times announced in class, please call Charlie at (504)201-1513 and we can set up a time for you.
